What does Botox® Do ?
Botox Cosmetic is an injectable treatment that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles that contribute to expression lines, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. It works beneath the surface of the skin by reducing muscle activity in treated areas, which can help soften the appearance of certain lines after repeated treatment.
The treatment is performed with small injections, is typically quick, and does not require surgery. Results are temporary, vary by person, and may take several days to fully appear.
Botox Cosmetic results are temporary and typically last about three to four months. Results vary by person, and ongoing treatments may be recommended to help maintain a refreshed appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Botox Cosmetic may not be right for everyone. Do not receive Botox Cosmetic if you are allergic to any botulinum toxin product or any of the ingredients in Botox Cosmetic, or if you have an infection at the planned injection site.
The effects of Botox Cosmetic and other botulinum toxin products may spread from the area of injection and cause serious symptoms, including muscle weakness, vision problems, trouble speaking or swallowing, breathing difficulties, or loss of bladder control. Swallowing and breathing difficulties can be life threatening.
Tell your provider about your medical history, including any breathing or swallowing problems, muscle or nerve conditions, bleeding problems, previous facial surgery, plans for surgery, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all medicines or supplements you take.Botox Cosmetic treatment is typically quick and minimally invasive. The actual injections often take only a few minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Most people can return to normal daily activities shortly after treatment, although your provider may give you simple aftercare instructions to follow.
Results are temporary and typically last about three to four months. Some people may begin to notice changes within a few days, with full results appearing over the following couple of weeks. Yes. BOTOX is FDA-approved to help prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine, which generally means 15 or more headache days per month, with headaches lasting four hours a day or longer. Migraine treatment with BOTOX is different from cosmetic Botox treatment and typically involves multiple small injections in specific areas of the head and neck. Treatments are usually repeated about every 12 weeks, and a medical provider can determine whether this option is appropriate based on your migraine history, symptoms and prior treatments.
